I'm super happy to announce the general availability of CloudPoint version 2.0.
CloudPoint is a cloud-native snapshot-based data protection solution for workloads running in the cloud. With this release, organizations get the enterprise-level data protection capabilities they require, but in a software package that's built and optimized specifically to protect workloads running in multiple clouds. It's easy to deploy and operate, light-weight and thus, inexpensive to run, and it is leveraging the native snapshot capabilities of the cloud platforms, so cloud users should feel right at home.
Moving data center workloads to the cloud is a big step for organizations, but we no longer need to really debate the benefits of the cloud. You're already well aware of how the cloud can help your organization be more flexible and responsive to the changing/evolving needs of your customers and markets. However, the question of how best to protect your data in the cloud has persisted. Not heavily from a security perspective mind you, the cloud has that solved better than most data centers already.
But what about protection from accidental deletion? Ransomware? Data corruption? Fat finger? Other human errors? For these, you still need a backup to recover from.
If you're like me, I thought this was fairly obvious, but according to the latest Truth in Cloud Research Report, more than 51% feel the responsibility of backing up data in the cloud lies with the cloud provider.
That's a myth.
What's not a myth? The fact that current solutions on the market fail to address this problem appropriately. Usually, it's a matter of one or more of the following:
And that's what makes CloudPoint so attractive. With CloudPoint:
We've been working with a ton of multi-cloud enterprises on this release to make sure we addressed much needed technical capabilities, as well as a positive and intuitive user experience. See a screenshot of the modern UI below.
